Starting back in 1945 just after world war 2 a young man and his family set out to establish a unique place that was located just off the banks of the singing river. Just inside the mouth of Mary walker bayou on the West Bank situated up the hill under massive live oaks Mr Fred Tucei placed his mark on this piece of property. Over the next 30ish years he built a legend of a place almost like no other. Having his family by his side ,battling and struggling with the economy, he kept his faith and focus on his objective. Little by little he rose to the top of the list amongst fisherman and the community. With his place fully operational and running almost day and night. He had established a 1 stop shop for fisherman in need of lodging, live bait, boats to rent and tackle.
Fisherman would flock to the docks of Tucei’s fish camp to hear the news from of local fisherman about the latest catch and to find out the newest hot spots. After years of developing the friendliest atmosphere here in the fishing community and a long term commitment to developing an uncharted business, Mr Fred decided it was time to enjoy the fruits of his labor. He grabbed up his poles and bait and set out to enjoy the water for pleasure instead of business. Mr Fred continued to be a staple of the community and the whole coast. From the many years of experience and his kind nature, he maintained countless and endless friendships from local to abroad. Years have past since Mr Fred founded this place and many new owners have came and went since that time. However, Mr Fred Tucei always remains a next door neighbor to the place he loved and built. As of this writing Mr Fred has made it to 105 years in life and has made himself a father figure to many people that has meet him.
Now that things have come to pass, myself and my family will strive to live up to Mr Fred’s traditions in a manner of respectfulness and gratitude to the community for their support . We will strive to do our best at rebuilding a place back to it original luster and all ways be of assistance to our fellow sportsman .
